Chess Wizards is the largest chess education program in the U.S., and our mission is simple: make learning chess so fun, your child won’t want to stop! Sure, chess builds amazing skills—critical thinking, confidence, focus, and sportsmanship—but if it’s not fun, most kids would rather be playing video games. That’s why we’ve packed our program with team games, interactive lessons, and clever puzzles (both on the board and in real life!) to keep young minds engaged and excited.

Whether your child is brand new to chess or already a grandmaster-in-training, we make learning feel like a game—because it is one!

Yes—every pawn starts somewhere, but we’re here to help them level up like knights in shining armor!

On the first day, we run a quick and friendly chess “sorting ceremony” (minus the talking hat). Your child’s wizard-instructor will evaluate their skill level through some puzzles and games. Then, they’ll be matched with fellow players of similar strength—so everyone gets the right dose of challenge and excitement.

Each group receives customized lessons and hands-on practice, but we also stir in whole-class games and magical chess activities where all levels mix, mingle, and compete. It’s a kingdom that allows all players to feel like kings and queens!

At Chess Wizards, we understand that being a grandmaster with children is just as crucial as having chess prowess. That’s why we handpick instructors who have a natural gift for inspiring young learners. Every candidate passes a thorough background check for your peace of mind. Once onboard, they’re mentored by our top kings in classroom management, kid-friendly communication, and our checkmate “chess-is-fun” style. The result? Teachers who can turn a chessboard into a magical world of strategy, creativity, and excitement!

Absolutely! Every Chess Wizards instructor goes through a thorough internal background check before they ever step into a classroom. We also adhere to your school’s requirements, layering protections like a fortified castle. Your students’ well-being is always our top priority.

When you register, you’ll pick the online private class package that fits your needs—1 session for a quick taste of the magic, or 3 sessions for a deeper dive—right under the Product Information section. 🧩🎯

Then, sit back and relax! Within 5 business days, one of our friendly admin wizards will reach out to help you choose the perfect day, time slot, and chess level for your little wizard (or wizards!). Once confirmed, we’ll send everything you need to get your tech set up and be class-ready—no crystal ball required. Sibling squad? They’re welcome too (if they’re at similar skill levels).

At Chess Wizards Camp, chess is the star of the show—but we know even the greatest grandmasters need to stretch their legs! We’ve created an action-packed day that keeps young minds thinking and bodies moving. A typical day includes learning a new chess strategy, participating in team games, solving puzzles, engaging in skill-building activities, and exploring creative chess variants (yes, we like to bend the rules… for fun!).

And of course, snack time is sacred. Full-day campers should bring a nut-free lunch, but we’ll provide a healthy snack, all chess gear, and plenty of laughs. Every wizard leaves with a trophy, a puzzle folder, and a Chess Wizards T-shirt to show off their new powers.

 

Our camp welcomes all future chess virtuosi between ages 5 and 12—whether they’re just learning how the knight moves or already plotting checkmate in three.
