Our day camps expand on our interactive chess curriculum, enhancing your child's skills at all experience levels. Campers enjoy physical activities, including classic and custom strategy-themed games, tournaments, and plenty of team chess opportunities. With snacks and awards added in, it's an experience your child will be talking about all school year! Frequently Asked Questions

Chess Wizards is a fun way to have kids experience the excitement of chess. It is proven that chess enhances cognitive development in children, improves both verbal and mathematical skills, and increases all levels of academic performance! But, as much as we love chess and champion its cognitive and character benefits, we don’t believe in asking an 8 year-old to stay inside for 3 or 6 hours and just play chess during their vacation. We’ve developed an interactive day-camp format that includes all kinds of activities to keep kids both physically and mentally engaged during their time with us. Team chess games, puzzles, skill-building, and chess variants are just some of the ways we integrate the whole person into our camp activities. A sample day might include exploration of a technical chess concept, fun group challenges which hone specific chess thinking patterns, a healthy snack, a mini-tournament, capture-the-flag, and blob tag — or creating and designing your own chess piece to be used in a practice game with your new friends. After all, it’s camp… we want our students to make memories that they’ll carry with them through the upcoming school year and beyond.

Our camp is designed for children ages 5-12.

Campers need to bring a positive attitude, willingness to learn, and be ready to have fun! Full day campers should pack a lunch.

Our refund policy is as follows: • Registration canceled within one (1) month before start date of camp, full refund will be issued • Registration canceled within two (2) weeks before start date of camp, 50% refund will be issued • Registration canceled within one (1) week before the start date of camp, no refund will be issued. • No refunds are available after the camp has begun.

It depends on the camp, but most full day camps are held from 9am – 3pm, with half day camps being held from either 9am-12pm or 12pm – 3pm.
